The Prime Package & Label history began in 1941 as Greeson Company, a family owned sheet-fed letterpress printing company specializing in catalogs, brochures, tags and labels. In the early 1960’s the company purchased its first offset press and focused on commercial sheet-fed printing including tags and labels until the 1980’s. Noticing a shift in the demand from cut and stack to roll-fed labels PPL moved full force into high end flexographic production by 1994 and changed the name to LithoFlex, Corporation.

In 2001 Prime Package & Label, LLC. was formed. Further expansion of PPL included the acquisitions of Pakmark Corp in 2001 and Foremost Printing in 2004, both local flexographic printers. The Tennessee facility was added in 2007 with the purchase of Cumberland Swan, a leading manufacturer of personal care, private label products. The latest acquisition was the purchase of Advanced Print Technology in 2008, a diverse printing division that includes flexographic and litho products. Today the Prime Package & Label headquarters is situated on a multi-building campus in the Westport area of St. Louis, MO.
